Yellowcard
May 19, 2026
In May I saw Yellowcard for the second time in eight months, this time as the headliner of a show! Honestly, when we saw Yellowcard open for A Day to Remember (“ADTR”) last October, I knew their biggest classics (Ocean Avenue and Breathing), and a few of their newest songs (Love Letters Lost and Better Days), but didn’t know much else. They put on such an amazing opening performance with high energy and a great sound, that I knew I had to see them again. So, when they decided to come to Stir Cove, I bought tickets immediately. I now know a good portion of their music catalog and loved every second of the second show—except for the freezing cold May temperatures at the outdoor show!
On this tour, Yellowcard brought Plain White T’s and New Found Glory to open. Plain White T’s kicked off the night and played several of their classics, like Hey There Delilah, Rhythm of Love, and 1, 2, 3, 4. Although these classics were very nostalgic and sounded great, I really actually like some of their newer songs like Hate (I Really Don’t Like You) and Would You Even better. These newer songs had a harder alt rock sound that was way different and refreshing from their softer alt rock classics. Overall, they put on a really fun show.
New Found Glory took the stage next. I was excited to see them live as I’ve really enjoyed listening to their newest album “Listen Up!” Although some of their songs sounded fantastic live, like My Friends Over You and Beer and Blood Stains, some of their songs sounded a bit off live. I was also a little surprised that they didn’t play some of their best songs off their newest album, including some that are referenced on their concert merch, like 100% and Treat Yourself.
Finally, Yellowcard took the stage and put on another incredible performance. It started similar to their opening set from the ADTR tour, with a Ghostbusters skit that made the audience laugh. Then, they got right into the performance kicking the night off with my favorite song off their newest album—Better Days. The set design was the same as the ADTR tour as well with the exception of their acoustic set. During the acoustic set, they played Back Home, Big Blue Eyes, and part of Empty Apartment. They transitioned the stage to have an intimate setup with couches and chairs for the band to sit on while playing. It looked like a cozy living room jam session, which was super fun. After the acoustic set, they played several of my favorite songs like Breathing, Bedroom Posters and Ocean Avenue and absolutely rocked the stage. The venue was packed with fans singing along to every song. The crowd was a pleasant group of older alt rock fans, with no pushing or rude behavior to be found. With the exception of the bitter cold temperatures, the atmosphere and show were extremely enjoyable. I would definitely see Yellowcard for a third time if they come back around here!
